Safety First for the Fourth!

Happy 4th of July…

July 4th is only a few days away and West Georgia Eye Care Center wishes you the happiest and safest of Independence Days! How are you planning on celebrating? If your plans include fireworks, make certain the plans are to enjoy a professional display and stay away from consumer fireworks (the off-the-shelf type that you can buy for yourself). Experts at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) want everyone to know that there are no such things as safe consumer fireworks. They simply are not worth the risks.

Novel Safety Considerations…

Americans across the country have a new concern this year unlike any previous Independence Day celebrations. The novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 will likely be present at large public gatherings. Reduce your risks of infection by practicing social distancing, frequent hand washing, and wearing a mask. If you feel sick, please stay home and watch the celebrations on-line or on television.

Improve your odds…

An easy way to reduce the risk of an eye injury is to leave the fireworks displays to the professionals. At WGECC we have the areas multi-specialty eye care professionals. From exciting surgical advances in iLASIK laser vision correction to sight-saving advances in glaucoma and retinal surgery, we are here for you. We look forward to serving your eye care needs; but we hope that you never need us for a fireworks related injury.
